As we have mentioned previously, new important dates for the Bitclub case are:
- Joby Weeks – 19th September, 2024
- Joe Abel – 18th September, 2024
- Silviu Balaci – 24th September 2024
These are the new sentencing dates for each of the Defendants. This postponement was due to the discovery of new evidence in Matthew Goettsche’s case.
A quick reminder: From April 2014 through December 2019, the BitClub Network was a fraudulent scheme that solicited money from investors in exchange for shares of purported cryptocurrency mining pools and rewarded investors for recruiting new investors into the scheme. Matthew Brent Goettsche, BitClub Network’s creator and operator, and Silviu Catalin Balaci, Russ Albert Medlin, Jobadiah Sinclair Weeks, and Joseph Frank Abel were charged by indictment in December 2019 in connection with the BitClub Network scheme.
Based on the evidence and court documents, defendants are tried as an organized criminal group. Since most of the defendants have already pleaded guilty and are awaiting sentencing, it is unlikely that Mr. Goettsche will escape the guilty verdict. However, we still have to wait for all defendants to conclude the case. We have to be patient and trust in the justice system.
