Bitclub Newsletter No. 189
Dear Clients,
Following the most recent filings in the BitClub Network proceedings, particular attention has been drawn to issues relating to access and review of large volumes of digital information collected during the investigation.
According to the submitted filings, questions relating to access to electronic devices, review of extensive digital records, and processing of information gathered during the investigation continue to be addressed years after the proceedings initially began.
The filings further indicate that the matter involves substantial amounts of electronic records, communications, device-related data, and other digital materials that require specific review and filtering procedures.
These issues further illustrate one of the key characteristics of proceedings involving cryptocurrencies and online platforms.
Unlike traditional cases, where evidence often consists primarily of physical documentation or witness testimony, in matters of this nature a significant portion of the evidentiary record exists in electronic form and frequently requires additional technical and procedural steps before it can be reviewed and analyzed.
From a practical perspective, circumstances such as these often represent one of the reasons why international proceedings involving digital assets and online platforms may take considerably longer than traditional criminal cases.
At the same time, the continued filing of additional submissions indicates that the proceedings remain active and continue to move forward through various procedural stages.
We will continue to monitor all relevant developments and keep you informed in a timely manner.
Kind regards,
Attorney Zoran Miljaković
