AITech Linked to Tag Markets as Questions Grow Over Unregistered Investment Activity
A recently published investigation by BehindMLM has raised concerns regarding AITech, an online investment program operating through infrastructure associated with Tag Markets, a trading platform that has previously attracted regulatory warnings in several European jurisdictions.
According to the report, AITech operates through the subdomain aitech.ibportal.io, while the underlying ibportal.io domain is associated with Tag Markets. Other investment programs have reportedly operated through the same infrastructure.
The report also links Tag Markets to individuals identified as Jared Esguerra and Niklas Freihofer and states that its associated corporate entities include companies registered in St. Lucia and Mauritius.
How does AITech operate?
According to promotional material reviewed by BehindMLM, participants are encouraged to deposit funds into Tag Markets’ “Copy X” trading platform, with returns reportedly promoted at approximately 1.17% per month.
The reported compensation structure also includes commissions connected to investment volume generated by recruited participants, matching commissions on returns earned within a participant’s network and additional trading-related commissions.
BehindMLM argues that AITech does not offer identifiable retail products or services separate from participation in the investment and recruitment structure and characterises the model as a pyramid-style investment scheme.
AITech’s ownership and management information is also reportedly not disclosed on its own subdomain, which primarily provides access to the Tag Markets platform.
Tag Markets has already attracted regulatory attention
The connection with Tag Markets is particularly relevant because regulators in several countries have previously issued warnings concerning the platform or activities associated with it.
According to publicly available regulatory information cited in the report, warnings concerning Tag Markets have been issued in Austria, Slovenia, Luxembourg and Russia.
The central regulatory concern is whether investment and trading services are being offered to residents of particular jurisdictions without the necessary authorisation.
This distinction is important for investors: the existence of a company registration in one jurisdiction does not automatically authorise a company to provide regulated investment services to consumers in other countries.
Significant international online activity
The report cites Similarweb data indicating that the AITech subdomain received approximately 373,000 visits during July 2026.
The largest share reportedly originated from the Dominican Republic, followed by Spain, Germany, India and the United States.
If accurate, this suggests that the program is being promoted to a geographically diverse group of users and highlights the importance of determining whether the entities offering investment services hold the required authorisations in the countries in which investors are being solicited.
What should investors pay attention to?
The AITech case illustrates several warning signs that investors should examine before transferring funds to an online investment platform.
Promises of passive returns, compensation linked to recruitment or downline investment volume, unclear ownership information and reliance on companies registered in jurisdictions different from those in which investments are being solicited should all prompt additional verification.
Investors should also independently check the regulatory status of the entity actually receiving or managing their funds rather than relying solely on information provided by promoters or on the platform’s website.
Anyone who has already invested through AITech or Tag Markets should preserve account records, transaction confirmations, wallet addresses, bank transfers, correspondence with promoters and screenshots of their account, particularly if difficulties with withdrawals or access to the platform arise.
We will continue to follow developments concerning AITech and Tag Markets, including any further regulatory or enforcement action.
