Grand Pacific Trade Call Center Scam Newsletter No. 97

Dear Clients,

As previously reported, the Grand Pacific Trade matter remains connected to an additional investigation. At present, we have not received new verified information indicating that this phase has been completed or that a new procedural decision has been issued.

This week, we would therefore like to clarify what an additional investigation may involve and, importantly, what the absence of a new formal decision does – and does not – tell us about the status of the matter.

What can happen during an additional investigation?

An additional investigation is not necessarily limited to a single investigative action. Depending on the information already available, the competent authorities may need to examine transactions, compare documentation, verify information concerning individuals or companies, or obtain information held in another jurisdiction.

In a case involving financial transactions, this may also require comparing information from different sources in order to determine whether particular payments, accounts or persons can be connected.

Some of these steps may take place without producing an immediate Court decision or another document that can be communicated to victims.

Why can there be a long period without a visible development?

The progress of an investigation cannot always be measured by the number of publicly visible decisions.

Requests for information may require responses from third parties or foreign authorities. Financial information may need to be reviewed together with existing evidence, while new information may itself lead to further verification.

For this reason, a period without a new procedural decision does not, by itself, establish that the additional investigation has ended or that no further investigative activity is taking place.

At the same time, we do not want to speculate about investigative steps that have not been officially confirmed. We therefore distinguish between what may generally occur during this phase and what we can currently verify in the Grand Pacific Trade matter.

Where does the Grand Pacific Trade matter stand now?

At present, we have no new verified information confirming that the additional investigation has been completed, discontinued or followed by a new procedural decision.

Accordingly, the status previously communicated to our clients remains unchanged.

What would constitute a significant development at this stage is official information concerning the outcome or further direction of the additional investigation, a new procedural decision, or a request requiring additional action or documentation from the victims.

We will continue to follow the matter and will inform you when verified information emerges that changes the current status or has a concrete impact on the position of our clients.

At this stage, you are not required to submit additional documentation or take any further action.

Thank you for your continued trust.

Kind regards,
Attorney Zoran Miljaković
