Dear Clients,

Although there are currently no new official updates in this matter, there is an issue that remains critically important for all victims of financial fraud: what happens to your personal data after you have interacted with a fraudulent online platform.

When victims create an account, send documents, or make payments, the fraudsters do not only gain access to money—they collect an entire profile of personal information: your name, address, phone number, email, device details, and even communication patterns. This data becomes a commodity. In many cases, criminal groups sell it further—to other scammers, “recovery” agencies, or operators preparing new fraudulent investment schemes.

This explains why victims often begin receiving calls, emails, or messages from seemingly unrelated individuals long after the original scam disappears. In reality, their personal data is circulating within a wider criminal network that profits from repeatedly targeting those who have already suffered losses.

To protect yourself, several steps are essential:

  1. Do not respond to unsolicited calls, messages, or offers of “fund recovery.”
  2. Do not send additional documents to anyone except your attorney.
  3. Secure your email accounts and devices with strong passwords and two-factor authentication.
  4. Save all communication and documentation, as it may become important in future proceedings.

Even if the platform itself has vanished, your personal data may continue to circulate and create new risks. For this reason, caution, proper digital protection, and communication exclusively through your attorney remain the best safeguards against additional harm.

Kind regards,
Attorney Zoran Miljaković
