BitClub Newsletter – Latest Updates on the Weeks Case
Dear Clients,
We would like to inform you about the recent significant legal developments in the case of Jobadiah Sinclair Weeks that are crucial for the ongoing proceedings.
- Withdrawal of Earlier Legal Arguments (Docket No. 396)
The defendant has formally withdrawn a previous filing that included complex procedural and jurisdictional claims which had caused delays in the case. The proceedings are now based on newer motions, including the withdrawal of the guilty plea, claims of selective prosecution, and requests for access to evidence. - Additional Legal Arguments and New DOJ Policy
In recent filings, the defendant refers to the U.S. Department of Justice’s new policy (the Todd Bianca memo), recommending dismissal of charges related to regulatory violations when no actual financial harm to victims is present. This policy has already been applied in related cases and significantly affects the ongoing matter. - Joby Weeks Spends $40,000 on Lobbying – Attempt to Influence Justice
Recent disclosures reveal that Joby Weeks, the defendant and alleged participant in the massive Ponzi scheme known as BitClub Network, spent $40,000 lobbying in the U.S. Senate, House of Representatives, Department of Justice, and the White House. The lobbying was conducted through JM Burkman & Associates, a firm linked to convicted fraudsters previously involved in election interference and legal manipulation efforts.
These facts illustrate that despite serious charges and evidence, some individuals use all available resources, including lobbying, to avoid justice.
These updates highlight the ongoing progress in the case and underscore the importance of vigilant oversight and active intervention by authorities in combating financial fraud and manipulation.
We will continue to keep you promptly informed of all significant developments and next steps.
