Bitclub Newsletter No. 187
Dear Clients,
A new procedural development has been recorded in the BitClub Network proceedings involving defendant Matthew Brent Goettsche before the United States District Court for the District of New Jersey.
On April 21, 2026, the Court held a status conference in the case. Shortly before that, an additional attorney formally appeared on behalf of the United States, indicating a continued active involvement of the prosecution team in the proceedings.
Although status conferences do not represent final decisions or determinations on the merits of the case, they are an important part of the preparation process in complex criminal proceedings of this nature.
During such conferences, the Court and the parties typically address procedural matters, evidentiary issues, trial preparation, scheduling, and other organizational aspects relevant to the upcoming trial.
It is particularly important that the Court continues to actively manage the proceedings as the trial date approaches. As previously reported, the trial against Matthew Brent Goettsche remains scheduled for October 6, 2026.
In cases of this scale and complexity, procedural developments of this kind often indicate that the matter continues to move forward actively, even in periods without major public announcements or substantive rulings.
Further procedural activity is expected in the coming months as preparations for trial continue.
We will continue to monitor all relevant developments and keep you informed in a timely manner.
Kind regards,
Attorney Zoran Miljaković
