EGCM Emirate Global Capital Markets Newsletter No. 80

by | Jul 26, 2024 | Emirates Global Capital Markets | 0 comments

Dear Clients,

CFD Forex brokers InfinityCapitalG and CCG.Global were cloned platforms active from 2021 to 2022, offering fake cryptocurrency trading and binary options. Scammers ceased communication when they could no longer extract money. Victims come from around the world, including Germany, Canada, and Australia. Our law firm represents victims, and criminal proceedings are underway in Belgrade.

Cybercrime in Southeast Europe is increasing. Two new scams are particularly dangerous: fake WhatsApp calls from countries like Somalia and Vietnam collecting personal data, and ads for “dream jobs” with links containing viruses. Common scams also include pyramid schemes on social media, phantom packages on Viber, fake reservations on Booking.com, and fake apartments in Greece on Facebook. Artificial intelligence is being used to create fake content.

Be cautious, do not open links from unknown senders, and double-check all offers.

There were no new developments in the EGCM case last week.
