HotNews No. 121: Iyovia – Double Collapse and Silent Exit

A platform accused of $1.2 billion in pyramid fraud officially shuts down

Iyovia, yet another flashy marketing platform promising “financial freedom” through multi-level marketing, officially shut down on May 23, 2025. The first warning signs came in a quiet email to promoters on May 15, announcing the end of its MLM program. Just hours after the media picked up the story, a follow-up message confirmed: operations were being suspended entirely.

No announcement, no refunds, just disappearance

In its latest email, Iyovia stated that “as of 11:59 PM EST on May 23,” all of its websites, apps, and subdomains would be disabled and redirected to a landing page with a brief notice and a single contact email. In other words — the platform vanished without a trace, no public statement, no accountability, and no mention of customer reimbursements.

Fraud warnings from Bolivia and an FTC lawsuit

Back on May 1, Bolivia’s financial watchdog ASFI issued an official warning, accusing Iyovia of operating a “fraudulent pyramid scheme” and advising consumers to avoid investing in it. That same day, the U.S. Federal Trade Commission (FTC) filed a lawsuit against Iyovia and its founders Chris and Isis Terry, alleging over $1.2 billion in fraud dating back to at least 2018.

New name, old scheme

Iyovia was a rebrand of IM Mastery Academy — clearly an attempt to dodge mounting legal pressure. But the new name didn’t last long. A few months later, the operation collapsed again, this time without even trying to make it look legitimate.

Conclusion

When a company changes its name to avoid regulators, promises passive income for recruitment, and then disappears overnight — it’s not a business. It’s a scam. Iyovia is yet another reminder: behind the marketing gloss, there’s often nothing real.
