Dear Clients,

In recent weeks, several clients have informed us that they have been contacted by the police or other competent authorities in their country and invited to provide additional information regarding their case. At the same time, other clients have asked why they have not yet received a similar invitation.

It is important to note that this does not necessarily indicate that one case is progressing faster than another or that certain victims have been given priority. The manner in which victims are contacted depends on a number of factors, including the procedures followed by the competent authorities in each country, the stage of the investigation, and the way in which international requests for assistance are being carried out.

In cross-border investigations, it is common for authorities in different countries to proceed at different speeds. Some authorities may contact victims soon after receiving a request for assistance, while others may require additional time before taking the same step. These differences are usually the result of procedural practices and workload rather than the significance of an individual case.

If you are contacted by the police or another competent authority, we recommend that you cooperate fully and provide accurate and complete information. If you have any questions regarding such communication or are unsure how it relates to your case, you are welcome to contact our office before or after the interview.

If you have not yet been contacted, this should not be interpreted as an indication that no action is being taken. International investigations often involve multiple jurisdictions, and investigative measures are not always carried out simultaneously in every country.

As always, we will continue to monitor developments and keep you informed of any significant updates.

Kind regards,

Attorney Zoran Miljaković
