ProCap Newsletter No. 48
Dear Clients,
Although there are currently no new official updates in the ProCap case, we consider it useful to clarify two aspects that are essential in complex international proceedings and that often raise questions among injured parties.
1. Tracing funds in international cases
In proceedings involving multiple countries, banks, and payment systems, tracing the flow of funds is one of the most complex parts of the investigation. This process does not depend on a single source or institution, but requires coordination between different competent authorities, the collection of data from several jurisdictions, and the verification of interconnected transactions. For this reason, fund tracing is carried out gradually and with particular care, as its accuracy directly affects the ability to establish responsibility and the potential recovery of funds.
2. The role of legal counsel in international proceedings
In cases of this nature, the role of legal counsel is to represent the interests of injured parties, coordinate communication with the competent authorities, and ensure that all procedural steps are taken in accordance with the law. Legal counsel does not replace investigative authorities and cannot influence the pace of proceedings outside the legal framework. However, through proper case management, timely submission of relevant information, and legal coordination, counsel plays a key role in preserving procedural stability and protecting the rights of injured parties.
Understanding these two aspects helps place the proceedings in a realistic context and clarifies how complex international cases are handled in practice.
As always, we continue to monitor the case closely, and any developments relevant to your position will be communicated promptly.
Thank you for your trust.
Kind regards,
Attorney Zoran Miljaković
