International Operation Against an Organized Online Fraud Network

According to publicly available media reports, Turkish authorities recently carried out a large-scale international operation targeting an organized criminal group suspected of committing online and telephone fraud against citizens of several European countries. During the operation, numerous suspects were arrested, while investigators seized a significant amount of digital equipment and other evidentiary material. According to the available information, the investigation was the result of international cooperation between the competent authorities of several countries.

Media reports indicate that the suspects operated from an organized call center, falsely presenting themselves as police officers, prosecutors, judges, bank employees, and other authorized officials in order to gain the trust of victims.
