Cybercrime Southeast Europe Newsletter No. 45
Dear Clients,
Good News: The Region Strengthens Its Fight Against Cybercrime!
Cybercrime is on the rise, and people across the Balkans are increasingly becoming targets of scams, hacking, and data theft. However, we have some good news – the Western Balkans Cyber Capacity Center (WB3C) has been opened in Podgorica, aiming to enhance cybersecurity across the entire region, including Serbia.
This center is the result of cooperation between Montenegro, France, and Slovenia, with the goal of helping citizens, businesses, and institutions protect themselves from cyber threats. Experts from across the region will have the opportunity to receive training, exchange experiences, and develop strategies to combat online fraud, hacking attacks, and identity theft.
What does this mean for everyday internet users?
✅ Better protection of personal and financial data
✅ Faster response to cyberattacks
✅ Education on recognizing scams
✅ Improvement of legislation and legal protection
The opening of this center is part of a broader European initiative to strengthen cybersecurity in the Balkans, ensuring that our countries are increasingly prepared to fight digital threats.
At a time when online scams are becoming more sophisticated, such initiatives represent an important step toward a safer internet for everyone. We will continue to monitor how this center contributes to the protection of citizens and what we can expect in the future.
Kind Regards,
