Dear Clients,

While we have previously warned about phishing emails, it is important to note that scammers are increasingly targeting mobile devices and social media platforms to defraud users. In recent months, there has been a noticeable rise in attempts to steal data via SMS messages, WhatsApp, Instagram, and other platforms.

Common methods include:

  • Messages promising rewards, refunds, or “urgent action” on bank or digital accounts;
  • Fake profiles and bots on social media requesting personal information;
  • Links to websites that appear official but are designed to steal data.

How to protect yourself:

  • Do not open links or attachments from unknown numbers or profiles;
  • Never share passwords, PINs, or verification codes;
  • Enable two-factor authentication (2FA) on all important accounts;
  • Verify any requests directly with the bank or company, without using links in messages;
  • Pay attention to grammatical mistakes, unusual tone, or illogical content—these are often indicators of fraud.

Caution and a conscious approach to communication are essential for protecting your personal data and financial assets, especially in the era of mobile and digital scams.

Kind regards,
Attorney Zoran Miljaković
